“Supreme Facts,” three other poems and six video stills in Angry Old Man

Always an event when a new issue of online journal Angry Old Man is released, and the new #4 is no exception. Crammed with piles of cutting edge images, videos, essays and poems, it covers the international experimental lit and multimedia scene more thoroughly than anything I’ve seen since Otoliths. Impossible to fairly represent the contents in a brief summary; best just to visit the site here.

I’m very pleased that this issue includes six miscellaneous video stills, the “Silenced Scribes” video, and four poems: “Supreme Facts” (brief excerpt below), “Sparkle of a Golden Nose,” “IOU-topia,” and “On the House.” You can check out the stills here, the video here (yes, it’s been on YouTube for a while), and the texts on this page.

Asemic alphabet video stills published in The New Post-literate

asemic-alphabet-nplThe New Post-literate is an online literary blog dedicated to the exploration of asemic writing–that is, writing that looks like writing, but that cannot be deciphered by the reader. Today, the journal published seven still images from my video Silenced Scribes that each appear to be a letter from an unknown alphabet. You can check out the portfolio here.

“Drowned Lands I-V” and 7 film stills published in Otoliths #48

The first Otoliths of 2018 was released today; this is number 48 for the journal, and as usual it’s packed with innovative texts, visual poetry, and imagery from all over the world. The issue also includes some of my work: “Drowned Lands I-V” and seven film stills. The text work is part of my “Civilization’s Lost” series, examining the fragility of languages, cultures and nations. This piece is in five parts, each based on a different lost city, civilization or continent. You can read the full poem here.

stills-otoliths-48The film stills can be found under another link here. All seven images come from a video that has yet to be edited into its final form. Some of the text was drawn from a spam email and reads “Feel the call of your body.” Other text comes from the captioning on the source footage. I recently recorded some new music, so perhaps  that will motivate the final assembly of the video.

The second issue of Angry Old Man was unleashed on the world last night. A massive issue of experimental works in many media, this one contains my text poem “In the Engine Room with Bettie & Andrea” and six video stills. You can check out the full poem here, and the vispo here.

On of my favorite places for online inspiration, The New Post-Literate is a literary blog dedicated to asemic writing (that is, it appears to be writing, but may not have semantic function). Today five of my video stills with strong asemic elements appeared on the site. These come from an as-yet-unpublished piece, with text drawn from an older poem called “Shit on a Stick Corporation” published by Zombie Logic Press. You can check out all the images here.
