The New Post-literate is an online literary blog dedicated to the exploration of asemic writing–that is, writing that looks like writing, but that cannot be deciphered by the reader. Today, the journal published seven still images from my video Silenced Scribes that each appear to be a letter from an unknown alphabet. You can check out the portfolio here.

Gnarled Oak #15 compilation published

The final issue of Gnarled Oak has been compiled as online and PDF issues, available free at the journal’s web page. Titled Walking through Clouds, this is issue number 15. The editor has been slowly publishing the contents piece by piece over the last month or so, and now the issue is complete. I’m pleased to say it includes my short video poem “Crushed Bits” alongside the textual micropoetry and microfiction. Short reads for your lazy summer dayz.

“Crushed Bits” video in Gnarled Oak

Today, my video poem “Crushed Bits” appeared in online poetry journal Gnarled Oak. This journal focused on shorter works. You can see the publication page here.
The text of the video comes from one of my “Civilization’s Lost” poems, “Cold Fortress.” The imagery is taken from a World War II documentary. I was trying to make a connection with the socio-political events of the present day, but it’s up to the viewer to decide the success of that.
5 video stills published in M58 journal

Just discovered that experimental poetry journal published five visual poems on March 12. Check out the images here.
These were pulled from my video Succubus Highway, which was previously published on YouTube.
Secret flash frame from “The Movie’s On” video

The Tone Ghosting music video “The Movie’s On” contains a “secret” flash frame–basically a subliminal image–of the magician presenting the climax of his illusion. Did you spot it in the video? You can watch it again below.
“The Queen’s Needle” published in Otoliths: text, vispo, and video

The new issue of Otoliths, number 47, was released this morning. Another amazing issue filled with visual and textual poetry of all types. It also includes a set of materials from me: a textual poem “The Queen’s Needle” plus a new video using a section of that piece, and seven stills from the video. You can view it all here .

Video stills in Angry Old Man Magazine

New online poetry magazine Angry Old Man just released its first issue today using one of my video stills as cover art. It also includes four other samples of my visual poetry. AOM #1 is a large issue encompassing textual and visual experiments to expand the notion of writing and written messages. You can check it out here.
Visual poem published in H&

H& is “an occasional journal of visual/concrete poetry and assorted other oddities.” Today, the vispo blog published another of the video stills from “Succubus Highway.” Although the text is distorted from the heavy video processing, the original reads “Wherever there are ruins/lies like flames/dance across time.” Full image available here.
Visual poem in H&

Visual poetry blog H& features a wide variety of image based poems and pseudo-textual experiments. Yesterday, a video still from “Succubus Highway” was posted to the site. You can see the image here. The image includes text veering into asemic territory due to heavy video processing, but the original words read “Wherever there are ruins/lies like flames/dance across time.”
The video itself can be viewed here.
“Fake History” video poem in Up the Staircase Quarterly
